Technical buyer's questions

What is the difference between Arduino Uno R3 and R4?+

Arduino Uno R3 uses the ATmega328P (8-bit, 16 MHz, 32 KB flash). The newer Uno R4 (Minima/WiFi) uses the Renesas RA4M1 (32-bit Cortex-M4, 48 MHz, 256 KB flash) and adds optional Wi-Fi/Bluetooth on the R4 WiFi variant. R4 is backwards compatible with most R3 sketches and shields.

Should I choose ESP32 or ESP8266?+

ESP32 has dual-core 240 MHz, 4 MB+ flash, integrated Bluetooth, more GPIOs and stronger Wi-Fi โ€” best for serious IoT, BLE and battery projects. ESP8266 is cheaper (~Rs.150 less), single-core 80 MHz and adequate for simple Wi-Fi sensors and switches. New projects in 2026 should default to ESP32.

What's the difference between Raspberry Pi 5 and Pi 4?+

Raspberry Pi 5 has a 2.4 GHz quad-core Cortex-A76 CPU (~2-3x faster than Pi 4), faster I/O via the new RP1 chip, native PCIe 2.0 and a real-time clock with battery slot. Pi 4 is still excellent value if you need 4 GB or 8 GB RAM at lower cost. Pi 5 is the right choice for desktop replacement, AI/ML at the edge and high-performance IoT gateways.

Which Arduino is best for kids and school students?+

Arduino Uno R3 is the safest starting point โ€” millions of tutorials exist, the boards are forgiving of wiring mistakes and shields are widely available. Pair it with a sensor + module starter kit and our blog tutorials.

What kit should I buy for my first IoT project?+

Start with our Arduino Uno R3 + Sensor Bundle (~Rs.1,499) or the ESP32 Smart Home Starter Kit (~Rs.2,499). Both include the board, breadboard, jumpers, common sensors (DHT11, ultrasonic, PIR), LEDs and a project booklet.
